These doughyā€™sĀ can make any day feelĀ a little brighter šŸŒŸ Honestly, what canā€™t a soft, warm, delicious cinnamon doughnut fix?! Best of all the mix of ingredients gives you a bit of a nutritional kick & these are baked doughnuts not fried, even better for your well being.

Although firstly let's tackle the elephant in the room... 'doughnut' or 'donut'? Which camp do you fall into? The official spelling of course is 'doughnut' but over time this has been shortened to just be 'donut' which became popular in the late 20th century, so the idea isn't new, just how it is typically spelt.

Ingredients:
- 1 cup gluten-free all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup almond mealĀ 
- 2 heaped tbsp vanilla proteinĀ 
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 tbsp coconut sugar
- 1 chai tea bag with 2 tbsp hot water (let soak for 5 minutes)
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1/4 cup mashed banana
- 3/4 cup plant based milk
- 1 tbsp almond butterĀ 
- 1 tsp Apple cider vinegar
- Doughnut pan + coconut oil to greaseĀ 
- Maple syrup with plant based milk to make glazeĀ 
- Cinnamon sugar


Method:
- Preheat oven to 180 degreesĀ 
- Grease doughnut pan with coconut oilĀ 
- In a large mixing bowl, add flour, almond meal, vanilla protein, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder, baking soda and coconut sugar. Stir togetherĀ 
- Add the chai tea, maple syrup, mashed banana, plant based milk, almond butter and apple cider vinegarĀ 
- Mix until thoroughly combined
- Pour batter in a piping bag and fill each doughnut to the topĀ 
- Baking in the oven for around 15-20 minutes until golden and cooked through
- Allow to cool for 5 minsĀ 
- Transfer to a cooking rack
- In a dish add maple & milk
- Lightly brush each doughnut then dip in cinnamon sugar


Then all you have to do is try & contain yourself by not eating them all at once, enjoy :-)
